A Call to Prayer: Week Ten.

Updated: Feb 23, 2021

“Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done. Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts. Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always." 1 Chronicles 16:8-1

Time of Devotion.

When I feel frustrated, anxious or discouraged, I try to remind myself what I know to be true about God. He is the Creator and Sustainer; He is faithful and eternal; He is all powerful, all knowing, all loving; His ways are higher than my ways; He alone is worthy of praise; He is Provider, Healer, Rescuer.  He is light and in Him there is no darkness.  He is trustworthy. God is love.

I am so thankful that God is all these things and so much more. Focusing on His character brings peace and perspective.  I’m reminded that He’s always at work, even when I can’t see it.

Call to Prayer.

This week, let’s pray the attributes of God over our coaches and players. Let’s ask Him to remind them of who He is, how much He loves them and the great plans He has for them now, as student athletes at Taylor, and in the future.

Lord Jesus, we praise you! You are God of all creation, full of love and grace and truth. Will you be with each one of our players and coaches and our TUFF Families this week. Meet them right where they are. Make them aware of your presence and your power working in their lives. Remind them of your faithfulness. It still amazes us that the God of the Universe is personally involved in the details of our lives and for that very personal relationship of love we are deeply grateful. Fill us with your love and joy and peace and help us to love those around us. We pray this in your name and for your glory. Amen.
