Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all. 1 Chronicles 29:11
How does the world measure value? More often than not, it looks for who has what. Who has the highest contract? Who has the most power, intelligence, fame, money….? Who has the most wins? Sometimes it is easy to measure our own value in the same way, and find ourselves wanting (I don’t get as much playing time, I have less money, I have less influence). It’s a lie! Our value is not found in what we have, it is found in who has us.
You have exceedingly high value because you are a child of the King of the universe, the One who is exalted as head above all. The one who owns all that is in the heavens and in the earth cares specifically about you. Can you grasp that this King made you, values you, and has a purpose for you? He wants to know you and to be known by you.
Your value is not dependent on what you do. Your value is not dependent on what you have. What you have is a gift from the King. He has given it to you to accomplish something eternal. What you do is a direct result of what He has given and how he has empowered you. Significant doing grows out of your relationship with the King--it demonstrates your love for the King and all that He is.
All that you do comes out of all that you are. Your doing is really for the One! How you do brings honor to Him. How can you honor Him today? How do you honor Him on the field? Ask the King to show you what He has prepared for you to do to honor Him.
